February.... what better time to be inspired in the bedroom...

Whether it is "simple & natural" as John Robshaw describes the process of his inspirations and creations of his collection for John Robshaw Textiles or the innovative and luxurious fabrics and designs of Ann Gish Bedding.

I feel we find our inspiration for our bedding in both the everyday and the extravagant. It could be a color or a texture we see in nature or a memory of a vacation. Possibly you stumbled across a vintage pattern that has been lost in time. Often times we gather inspiration from something new and unexpected that has taken us by surprise.
What I seek for in creating the perfect bed is something that truly makes me feel comfortable and at ease.

John Robshaw's bedding is a vibrant mix of sophistication and romantic allure...perfect for this month, it will transcend you to another world to dream as if you have gone on a journey to a distant land with him. A new addition to his collection is "JR". Elderberry and Bombay, this line is a riot of colors and ideas from around the world, hand printed in India on the finest cotton and all hand embroidered.

Ann Gish is best known for the elegance of her bedding that is easy and a pleasure to live with...it's a marriage of form and function. She is a leader in the industry for exquisite detailing and her creations of contemporary silk bedding and decorative pillows. Luxury does not have to be complicated; Ann Gish "Ready to Bed" is a machine washable silk and easy-care collection.

Paysage would like you to have a fun, flirty, passionate and peaceful nights sleep, and we know you will find exactly that mixture at Paysage this month. Sweet dreams.

the bedding yawns, a door
blows aimlessly ajar

and overhead, a plane
singsongs coming down.

nothing has changed except
there was a moment when

the wolf, the mongering wolf
who stands outside the self
lay lightly down and slept.

Alabaster Lamps

We find alabaster lamps the perfect balance of organic and glam. Alabaster is a natural mineral that shines a fresh white, and is sometimes veined. We are particularly in love with this tall alabaster table lamp that widens into a carved quatrefoil. It’s quite elegant and a clean modern accent suitable for any room.

Pandora
PANDORA STATION OF THE MONTH:

The Bridgette Bardot Station. This station is Paysage’s owner, Richard Marquard’s favorite. And we have to give it to him; there are some fun tunes on here, very eclectic and sure to put a skip in your step.
Listen Now!

Flower of the Month:

The Siberian Iris is a tall purple flower. It is a beautifully simple spring flower that we think creates an effortless arrangement. These flowers are easy to grow and make a great flower for the yard, which means a fresh supply for the house all spring long.
Cigar Tables

There is one piece on our floor that everyone on staff has purchased, and it’s this all too handy occasional table. Why is this simple little table so desired? To start it comes in antiqued gold or silver finish that blends with any interior, it has a fun mirrored top, and it’s brilliantly designed to have a semicircle base that allows this table to be push in around a chair or sofa leg, bringing that glass of wine or your laptop conveniently close.
Fun Jewelry

These small carved dark wood hearts on a silk ribbon or a French knotted leather are a sweet “I love you gift.” We like layering the necklaces & bracelets to make more of a statement.

Playful prints, Angelots

By now I’m sure you are all aware of our obsession with Natural Curiosities Art House. This sweet little piece from Paule Marrot’s Petites is just the right touch of cute for February. Angelots means little angel in French, and they are sure to get your heart and make you smile.

Verellen Chair

With a beautiful long and narrow frame this chair is that special piece that sits uniquely in a room that everyone gravitates towards. The soft dark Belgium linen is livable and forgiving, while the chair is created with the perfect amount of sturdy cushioning. We love the contrast of the driftwood finish with the fabric and the fine details of the nail heads. To say it simply, this chair is cool.

New England Collection Rugs

These rugs are all hand made of natural fibers such as wool, cotton, and silk.  The colors and patterns are very unique ranging from Early American to contemporary graphic. Many of the designs use soft color ways making them feel slightly antique. Of course, we like the super graphic pieces the best!

Champaign Flutes

These delicate mouth-blown glass flutes are a must have. They are subtly intricate with a “tailored effect that sparkles with feminine romanticism.” We do recommend trying our cocktail of the month in these beauties.

Recipe

Tzatziki!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 medium Greek yogurt
  • 1 lemon
  • 1-tablespoon mint
  • 1-teaspoon piment d’espelette (chili powder)
  • 1-tablespoon salt
  • black pepper to taste
Directions:

First wash cucumbers and cut in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds using a Parisian spoon (or small round spoon). Next cut each half in 2 and slice it. Toss the slices with salt until the water drains from the cucumber slices (about 15 minutes). Meanwhile, mince the mint leaves.

Second step, rinse the cucumbers in fresh water, and squeeze as much water as you can out of the slices. Add mint, lemon juice, yogurt, piment, and black pepper.

Allow the mixture to sit in the refrigerator for a few hours for the flavors to blend. Serve chilled or at room temperature with toasted Greek pita bread.

Enjoy!
